About

Incorporated on January 1, 1967, the Illinois Commission on Diversity & Human Relations was previously known as the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Suburban Human Relations Commission, Minority Information Referral Center and Minority Economic Resources Corporation.

The ICDHR is committed to promoting a greater understanding between, and among, people who occupy this planet. Designed to create and implement human relations models across gender, racial and cultural boundaries, the ICDHR has advocated for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and its appreciation since its inception in 1972. It has long been understood that true diversity and inclusion cannot exist alongside racism, sexism and classism.

We embrace all people and believe

we can define the future and change the world.
